Finding CCUS Subsurface Opportunities in Southeast Asia

Updated: Dec 20, 2021

Southeast Asia is one of the world's fastest-growing regions, and its population, energy demand, and gross domestic product (GDP) are expected to continue to escalate. Unfortunately, traditional industries and fossil fuels, which presently supply 92 percent of the region's energy requirements, are predicted to increase CO2 emissions. It will take time to transition to renewable energy sources and lower-emission sectors. For the region to minimise emissions, carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) technology must be an integral element of the mitigation strategy. With that, the ALECA team has dedicated the month of November into studying the potential of Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) Subsurface Opportunities in Southeast Asia. ALECA is working with the industry and we look forward to engaging you. Get in touch with us!
