Carbon Tax, Carrot or Stick?

Two of the seventeen United Nations goals are to "Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy" and "Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all".

Today, many countries are implementing a carbon t

ax in efforts to reduce their Green House Gas (GHG) Emissions. The debate follows a format of for or against a carbon tax implementation. The tax is a stick (punishment) but in order to meet the United Nation goals, change is still required and perhaps a carrot (a reward) is the solutions.

Team Carrot will be represented by Serge Jean, Awatif Ezzah and Yasmin Iman Yushaimi. Team Stick will be represented by Graeme Rae, Banuprevathy Panjateharam and Pragadeswary Ravichandran.

This debate will be moderated by Juarez Salih Lowe, 27th May 2021, 2:00PM - 3:00PM | GMT+8 (KL Time).

Let's see if we could change your views on Carbon Tax.
